CLINCH COUNTY, Ga. - Wildlife experts are calling a rare video captured by a South Georgia fisherman a gator feeding frenzy.

Ray Cason told the Clinch County News that he saw hundreds of alligators gathered in a canal in Stephen C. Foster State Park in the Okefenokee Swamp.  He captured the rare moment with his digital camera and posted the video to YouTube.

It was unreal,"Cason told the Clinch County News. "There were 10-foot gators with their entire bodies three feet above the water. Gators rolling all over themselves. It was foggy that first morning (Saturday, July 10), but I bet there were 300 gators I saw in that boat basin and canal."

A refuge biologist that the Clinch County News spoke to said the alligator frenzy is a not-unheard of, but rare occurrence.  It is not often that it is captured on video.

According to the report, the alligator frenzy is likely a cooperative feeding.  It is not known what triggers it.  Cason said it only lasted 30 or 40 minutes.
