ROSWELL, GA -- Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff describes some of his off season experiences as "nirvana."  No, that doesn't mean Arthur Blank told him he has an unlimited budget to sign talent.

Dimitroff speaks fluent "mountain bike." That's because he's been an avid participant for over 30 years, so he's no rookie.

He spent some time this summer with Atlanta middle schoolers as part of the Falcons Youth Foundation's efforts to get kids off the couch and on the move.

Rock Creek Park off Old Alabama Road in Roswell was the sight of the outing.  He and a couple of other adult guides took the lead on beginner and intermediate trails, then while the kids took a break, the three adults hit the advanced trail.

Dimitroff says he's taken some pretty nasty spills over the years, so he emphasizes always, always wear the "brain bucket."  That's mountain bike talk for helmet.  And while he's come through the off season in fine shape and will be at training camp when it opens Friday morning, it's not something he wants the players doing until after their playing days.

In otherwords, Matt Ryan, this sport is out of bounds for now.
